Leveling up quickly is the most consistent way to unlock more artifacts and Tablets. The Golden Maple Leaf helps you gain XP faster, which means more options, faster scaling, and a better chance to solidify your build early on.
Mini Ballista (or any Companion)
Companions might not seem flashy, but they’re incredibly useful for controlling the room. They’ll distract enemies and bosses, giving you more breathing room to dodge or deal damage.
Völuspá
A fantastic starting artifact. It deals solid damage, has good accuracy, and can pierce multiple enemies if you line them up just right. Great for clearing rooms efficiently in the early game.

- Storm Cloud & Frostbite are great early passives.
- Storm Cloud: Gives you passive damage via an "untouchable" companion. Great for chipping enemies down.

- Don’t ignore defense or regenerating abilities! Neutral artifacts that increase damage, HP regen, or MP regen can extend your run far more than one more damage effect. Survivability matters, especially as you're learning enemy patterns.
- Don’t stress over tablets with negative levels. Even if a Tablet lowers the level of a slot, you can still use that space for potions or other utility items. It’s not wasted space!
- Rotate Tablets to stack bonuses. Instead of spreading levels across your whole inventory, focus on leveling up your key artifacts. Move Tablets around to overlap the same slots. This way, your best pieces get stronger, faster.
- Reorganize often. Every new artifact or Tablet is a chance to optimize. Take a moment after each pickup to make sure your layout still makes sense. Keeping artifacts with similar bonuses grouped together makes it easier to stack levels and keep your core build strong.
- Sell what you don’t need. If an artifact doesn’t fit your build, sell it at the merchant for some quick cash. You might find something in his shop that suits your run way better.

After a few runs, you can unlock the Destiny Inscription called "Home Repair". Head back to town and talk to Ken. He’ll give you a side quest to repair your house.
- Collect 2 Wood from the southwest forest.
- Return to your house and place the Wood on the broken section.
- Talk to Ken again to receive a Hammer.
- Use the Hammer to repair your home.
Once the repairs are done, go inside the house to level up your new Talents!
Best Talents for Early Game
Swiftness
- Effect at Lv. 5: +5% Attack Speed and +1 extra Dash.
- The bonus Attack Speed isn’t huge, but the extra Dash can be a run-saver, especially while you're still mastering movement.
Patience
- Effect at Lv. 5: +5 Defense and a Foundation Tablet.
- The added defense makes early mistakes less punishing. Even better, the Foundation Tablet gives one full row of your inventory +1 to all artifacts—an excellent boost right from the first area.
Best Costumes in Sephiria
Costumes won’t completely change your run, but the right one can smooth out the early difficulty curve. Here are two beginner-friendly options:
Brown Rabbit
- Effect: +6% Evasion, -6% Crit Chance
- A great pick if you’re still learning the flow of combat. Evasion gives you more forgiveness, and since crit builds take a while to pay off, the penalty won’t hurt much early on.
Braided Hair Rabbit
- Effect: +7% Attack Speed, +12% Move Speed, -20% Dash Recovery
- When paired with the Swiftness Talent, the Dash Recovery penalty isn’t a big deal. You’ll feel the Attack and Move Speed bonuses immediately—perfect for fast, nimble playstyles.
